Google is Testing a Black Dark Theme in Desktop Search

Google has begun testing an updated version of the dark theme on desktops. If now, when switching to this mode, the page background becomes dark gray, then in the new version it is black. This is reported by 9to5Google.

Other colors – for links (blue) and visited pages (purple) – have become more vibrant.

Users note that the dark gray background is perceived better – especially given the fact that the pages open in the usual light mode.

Perhaps if the company does decide to use black, it will keep the current dark gray variant available for selection.

Testing is carried out on a limited scale. Moreover, those users who were the first to gain access to the new design have already lost it.

Recall that the dark theme in the desktop version of Google appeared in September.
